About The Seelie Court
The Seelie Court is a gathering of storytellers, musicians, and merrymakers devoted to the living spirit of Celtic and folk music tradition. Rooted in the songs and tunes of Ireland, Scotland, and beyond, the group reaches across time, breathing fresh life into centuries-old tradition with a playful and enchanting style that is uniquely The Seelie Court.
A Celebration of Music, Story, and Community
Our name is drawn from the old fairy tales of the Seelie Court, the benevolent consortium of Summer fae who revel and delight in music, dance, and mischief. Like our namesake, we invite our audiences to join in the celebration, welcoming them into the fold.
From driving, piping-hot tune sets to reimagined ballads and timeless folk songs, we strive to honor the history of our profession. The music we play is of the people, for the people. It cannot be recreated or truly contained: it can only be made anew each time. We consider it a duty and privilege to carry forward the grand tradition of folk music.
Our Sound
Our instrumentation supports a variety of styles and archetypes. Classic dance tunes, mesmerizing flute melodies, enthralling ballads, songs of love and loss, of hope and community. Tradition meets a vibrant modern edge in the bright, lively sounds of The Seelie Court.

The Experience
The bagpipe strikes in and a blast of jigs courses over the crowd. The bouzouki ripples and shimmers, clipping along like a fox close to the ground, teasing anticipation as the energy builds. Finally, the drum roars to life in an explosion of driving rhythm. A field of people laughing and dancing with each other like a meadow of wildflowers.
The Seelie Court thrives on connection with our audiences.
